Shadows and Bones was a joint exhibition of new work by artists Teresa Wilson and Julie Howse. The show comprised uncanny human sculpture and textile embroidered micro worlds imagining the traces left behind by long gone communities.
The motivation behind the collaboration was the artists desire to retrace the shadows of distant presences, re-imagining unknowable people. “We are fascinated by the emotionally charged places, such as burial mounds and the mystery surrounding ritualistic objects and lost worlds” Teresa Wilson.
Research was made into the area known as Doggerland, now submerged under the North Sea and the haunting tale of the Bronze Age burial of the Boy with a Gold Cape from Mold.
