Bankley Open 2022 + Open Studios

As part of Bankley's continued 30 year celebrations, we present an exhibition from 20 artists, selected through our annual open call.  

On the opening weekend, Friday + Saturday, all three floors of our artist's studios will be open to the public.

Access Information

Bankley Gallery is situated on the first floor of an old mill building, which unfortunately is currently only accessible by stairs.

The building is located just off the main road, with regular bus services from manchester and Stockport, and is around 450m from Levenshulme train station. The station has no lift and both platforms are only accessible by stairs.

Free Entry for All - No Booking Required

The New Hat, my selected entry for The Manchester Open 2022, is inspired by the book Women Who Run With The Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estes.  The work aims to evoke feelings of desperation caused by mental and physical confinement.

From January to March 2022 the HOME Gallery walls will be filled with work from 400+ Greater Manchester residents, selected by a panel consisting of art experts and community representatives.

AIR gallery's latest exhibition showcases the macabre, the grotesque and surreal works of 27 artists from around the world.

Translated as 'Remember Death' the exhibition sets out to remind the viewer of their own fragile mortality whilst also providing a poignant commentary on the art world perceptions of beauty and aesthetics. (artrabbit.com)
